Daring the Highlander
ISBN:
0-425-20292-5
In the glorious Scottish Highlands of Robert the Bruce, an
independent young widow faces a difficult challenge: can she
help an unlikely leader bring honor and prosperity back to their
clan ~ without losing her own cautious heart?
I. Will. Never. Marry. Again.
Ailig MacLeod returns to Assynt Castle with a heavy task.
As penance for his oldest son's attempted treachery against the
king, Ailig's father must step down as chief of the clan ~ and Ailig
is to take his place. There are elders to appease, a competing
clan to ward off, and the castle itself is in shambles. Ailig
enlists the beautiful widow Morainn MacRailt to help him pull the
keep back together, and her counsel soon becomes as invaluable to
him as her presence is intoxicating. Only the two of them, working
together, can save the clan from being set to fire and sword.
But their partnership reawakens feelings in Morainn she swore she'd
never hold again...
Daring the Highlander is the sequel to my May, 2004 book,
Charming the Shrew, though it's not necessary to read Shrew first.

Charming the Shrew
ISBN: 0-425-19527-9
Charming the Shrew is my second medieval romance
and the prequel to Daring the Highlander. Set in the
wintry Highlands of Scotland, Tayg Munro is a warrior in King Robert
the Bruce's army and a charmer. He disguises himself as a (not very
good) bard in order to deliver a message from the king to a
recalcitrant chief.
Catriona MacLeod is a shrew fleeing a marriage she doesn't want
and five brothers who want to run her life. Thrown together by
circumstance, foul weather, and a plot against the king, sparks fly
between them and the two dig themselves into deeper and deeper
trouble until they discover that only by trusting each other and
working together can they survive the harsh climate, her hoard of
brothers and the man who seeks harm to the king. And of course they
fall in love!
